예술의 아름다움을 전하는 데 힘쓰고 있다.

김 케이트

Kate Kim is a professional Korean traditional dancer. She is recognized by the Korean Government’s Ministry of Culture as a “Successor” (Chonsuja) of the Seungmu dance, an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

She graduated from Sangmyung Women’s University in Korea and is the recipient of a Folk and Traditional Arts Grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, as well as the World Dance Competition Leader’s Award. She also participated in a research program on cognitive ability in dementia in the elderly at Temple University School of Medicine.

As the owner and director of K-MOTION Troupe, she also operates the Philadelphia Training Center for National Intangible Cultural Heritage Seungmu. She serves as the dance director of:

  • Korean School of Southern New Jersey
  • Philadelphia First Generation Korean Academy
  • The Korean Cultural Foundation (KCul)

Kate Kim and the K-MOTION Troupe have brought Korean traditional arts to a wide range of prestigious events, cultural institutions, and universities across the United States. Their work reflects both artistic excellence and a deep commitment to cultural education and outreach.
